Building Community Kai Gardens was founded with a passion for sustainability and a commitment to fighting climate change through community gardening.

Our team believes that by working together and sharing knowledge and skills, we can create a greener and healthier future for all.

With this focus on setting up community kai gardens in Porirua, we invite you to join us in this important mission and make a positive impact on the environment and our community.

We are looking for local groups (5 or more people) who can identify a suitable area (part of a reserve) near them which could become a kai garden.

Our team will then support the group to obtain access to this reserve and help them establish a community kai garden.

We will also negotiate with the Porirua City Council on their behalf for funding, expertise and compost to maintain the kai garden.
